Sampson Christopher Karailanidis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. He is a senior undergraduate student at Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is currently working towards his Diploma Thesis under the supervision of Professor George K. Karagiannidis and the Wireless Communications Systems Group  (WCSG) members. His academic interests are in the broad area of Digital Communications Systems with emphasis on Communications Theory, MIMO and Cooperative Communications and Hardware-constrained Communications.

During the period from 2006 to 2007 he was an undergraduate student at Production Engineering and Management Department at the Democritus University of Thrace.

Since 2011, he is the Mentor of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki IEEE Student Branch and from 2009 to 2011, he served as Chairman of the same Student Branch. During his tenure, he was responsible for the organization of a large number of events (symposium, workshops, seminars, educational excursions e.t.c.). Also, in the same period,  he was volunteer at IAESTE Thessaloniki Local Committee and his responsibilities included job raising, secretariat assistant, technical support and summer program organisation. Also, as an athlet Mr. Karailanidis was a rower of  the National Rowing Team of Greece.
